There is little information available on General Toy Product of Canada. We believe they were located on Hannah Ave. One obvious fact is that their toy designs were very similar to other toy makers in the United States, including Fisher Price, NN Hill and Gong Bell. We believe these U.S. toy companies may have licensed General Toy to make toys using the U.S. toy designs in Canada. Or, there may have been trademark and/or patent laws that allowed General Toy to use other companies’ U.S. toy designs. The majority of GTP toys are marked with the General Toy Product company name and “made in Canada.”
