Louis Marx started his career working at Ferdinand Strauss at the age of 14, which he purchased in 1922 along with toy dies. Ferdinand Strauss was a manufacturer of early mechanical toys.
In 1935 he purchased Girard Toy company. In 1972 the company was sold.
