Esther M. Ames wrote this charming book in the 1920s featuring Twistum toys. The cat, rabbit, elephant, bulldog, and pig are characters in the book. Below are illustrations from the book.

 

 

   

The Golden Bears of the 
University of California Berkley inspired these Twistums.
   

Bunny Twistum - all of these toys were constructed from a composition of pressed sanding dust. The segments are held together with strong piano wire.
